Shamin A. Sookia brings extensive industry expertise in auditing, taxation, management and consultancy services, global business, financial restructuring, capital markets, and corporate finance advisory. He has held several senior executive positions throughout his career and the Managing Director of Perigeum Capital Ltd since 2016.

Prior to this, he served as Head of Listing at the Stock Exchange of Mauritius Ltd from 2005 to 2016, following senior finance leadership roles as Finance Director in the Mauritian beverage industry from 2001 to 2005 and in the Mauritian textile industry from 1996 to 2001.

Shamin is a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA – UK) and the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants (FCMA – UK). He also holds an MSc in IT (Business Information Systems) from Keele University, UK, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Mauritius. His professional affiliations and governance experience include serving as a former member of the Board of Directors of Mauritius Finance, former Chairperson of the Capital Market Task Committee of Mauritius Finance, and former Board Member of the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA). He also served as a member of the Audit Committee of CIMA Central, Eastern, Western and Southern Africa for six consecutive years from 2007.
